But the Vees are the main ones. And so, I was very thankful to make that choice because not only do I love the Vees, and I think they deserve their own season being the villain. But Vox especially has become one of my favorite characters I've ever created. I am so proud of his character. Um, which by the way was partially Christian. You know, this was actually before we majorly knew I didn't know him very well and I was a little nervous to direct him too far. Um, and he did that like he has a tone for Vox all season. you know, he playing him very and then in that scene, we didn't need to tell him to do anything different. He just did it differently. And when I heard it, I went, "Oh, yeah. He plays him like really really innocent here." Like you can hear it in his voice. He's so much more like timid and like shy. And but that was the point because Vox is a character as we see in the season. He was an egomaniac. He was a violent man. He did these horrible things when he was alive and he was a cult leader. So he's a master manipulator. He's very charismatic. But in that moment with Alastor, he was being vulnerable in a way that especially from the time period he's from was not easy. And I think that's the element of it that I don't think people realize is like that was real. That his moment there with Alastor was like him letting down a guard that even existed when he was alive.

That was so the So I I say yes and no because I think if Alastor had accepted that and al like we'd gone down that path I think Vox would probably be a happier person which maybe would mean he's less horrible but I don't really know because he was horrible in life and he's still kind of horrible and so is Alastor. So, I feel like they would be they would be a very jovial villain team. ****Um, but I don't think he would have been totally different. And and I also don't know how well that relationship ultimately would have worked with two egoomaniacs at the helm. ―You know, no matter how much he liked him, there would have been a problem eventually. Exactly. I I feel like they're so similar and so different that it's like that could either be the best thing or the worst thing, right? ―You know, the flashback also left me wanting like a Vox growth chart. Yes. ―I just want to see like the range of TV heads. He has had on his we put um I don't know if it's seen in full, but in one of the backgrounds we do have one. We have uh I think maybe like whenever we're in his office, look into the background more. I'm I know it's there. I just don't know if there's ever a shot where we see it like 100%. But um but yeah, they have he has a display of like all his heads over the years. ―The amount of time I'm gonna spend like scrubbing through the episodes and trying to find it. ―I'm going to jump to one of my episode 8 questions also because this does pertain to Vox. Um I forget which conversation we were having. I think it might have been the New York uh Comic-Con panel where you were kind of explaining how um you were defining the seasons and explaining how it was kind of like a self-growth period for both Charlie and Vox and given how things end for Vox in season two. I I was wondering do you see that as the end of the exploration of his identity or is that something that's going to continue in future seasons in new ways? Oh yeah. Well, partially because I really fell in love with the character. Just again, I just there's so much there. He's he's not a one-dimensional character. Um, he has so much and and he kind of started out I mean, there's some characters that do start out that way, but I knew I always knew that he had this insecurity with Alastor. I was very excited to show people how brutal it was because there there's so many theories about everyone knew that that moment happened, but nobody knew how brutal it was. And so, I was just sitting on it. I was just like, "Yeah, no, he he no, he has a reason to hate Alastor, you guys." Um, but um, you know, but but it led to obviously I know where the show ends or where I want it to end. And Vox stays an important character all the way through to the end. And I really like it because so season two obviously at the end is he gets humbled by the people who you would not have expected and and and because by his own doing though because he he let the manipulation of Alastor and his own hubris and his own ego and his own and wanting to prove himself, he let that distance himself from the people who helped build him to who he was. And that ultimately was his downfall. They were the ones that stopped him. And I think for me, we start like I was about to go into spoilers for season 3, but just I'll just say the safe thing I'll say is that Vox has been humbled. And so in season 3, we will have to see him deal with not being the person who's at the top of the food chain anymore. And that I think inherently creates a different arc for him is like he has now been humbled as much as a a villain can be humbled. And does he grow from that? What does he do from there? is something I'm very excited for everyone to see. So, yes, he has more plenty more arc. He has lots and same with Charlie.
